Hand Painted Kitchen Codsall - Staffordshire
We’ve often said how lucky we are to work for fabulous clients… This project was no exception – from the first meeting, we were welcomed wholeheartedly into this beautiful detached property with amazing lakes within it’s grounds.This particular project is a handmade kitchen made by “Osborne of Ilkeston”. We love working on these kitchens and have Hand Painted many of them over the years. The original finish was ivory with a dragged effect, it was looking quite dated and didn’t fit with our client’s vision for how they wanted their “new” kitchen to look.
This was quite a large project; full kitchen with two stand-alone larder units, a separate glazed unit around a doorway and also a utility room (not made by Osborne of Ilkeston).
Once we had decided upon the colour scheme, with our clients, we also took the opportunity to order in new chrome hinges and handles from our preferred supplier.
Full protection was applied to the worktops and flooring in our working area and the preparation phase of the project was well underway… doors and drawers were removed from carcasses and stored on site on our modular racking systems… we degreased all areas to be painted with our Professional degreasing system, followed by a thorough sanding with our dust-free sanding system (99.9% dust free).
The base coats of Tikkurila OTEX were applied to a beautifully flat, solid, matt finish… we have our primers tinted to the same colour as the topcoat, so that the depth of colour starts building from the very first coat.
Once dry, we sanded back with 320 grade Abranet to leave a wonderful glassy finish – the perfect surface for the topcoats; Tikkurila Helmi 30 (30% sheen level) accurately mixed to our client’s specified colour.
The kitchen was rebuilt with the new hinges and handles, complimenting the new paintwork perfectly.
The “new” kitchen looks light, bright and very bespoke… a Handmade kitchen with a flawless Artisan applied paint finish.

It's very hard to find good workmen and once you find them you hold on to them for dear life. Martin falls into this category. He has just completed my kitchen makeover and to say we are delighted is an under statement. Martin is a true professional and a master in his work.
