Hand Painted Kitchen West Midlands
This particular Hand Painted Kitchen project demonstrates that it is possible to paint "any" Kitchen substrate - the main kitchen was originally a varnished knotty pine (installed 25-30 years prior)... the utility was a new IKEA Kitchen installed by my preferred fitter - he made a few alterations to the doors to create a door that was similar to the style to that of the kitchen. New worktops and flooring was also installed before I arrived on site.The Kitchen was fully degreased with Fluxaf products and my Festool/Mirka "Dust-free" sanding system took all surfaces in the Kitchen back to bare wood. The utility was degreased and "nibbed" back to form a key to help the paint adhere.
Base coats of tinted Pegaprim Isofix and Tikkurila Helmi (5% sheen - Matt) paint were applied to both the Kitchen and the Utility. I also fitted new handles and knobs to complete the transformation.
