Hand Painted Kitchen Shrewsbury, Shropshire
This kitchen near Shrewsbury is a great example of our services - my clients contacted me and sent photographs of their "orange" pine kitchen. It was in fairly good repair, but was tired and needed a little updating.Although this isn't the largest kitchen in terms of floor space, it does have a lot of content (40 doors, an oven hood, plate rack, shelf ends and a radiator cover). Our approach is the same for a 5 door kitchen, or a 50. It's a methodical approach - degreasing and "dust-free" sanding/preparation, creating a perfect surface for the first coats of primer. In this case a shellac based sealer primer called Pegaprim Isofix.
Once the primer is dry, it is flattened in readiness for the Tikkurila topcoats. In this instance we used Tikkurila Feelings Furniture Paint (20% sheen), we also offer Tikkurila Helmi which is "Matt" (5% sheen). It is possible to have "any" colour mixed into our preferred Tikkurila paint bases.
New handles were fitted to the doors and drawers to complete the transformation. In fact, builders who were working at the property were so impressed that they said that the kitchen now looked like it is a bespoke, handmade kitchen.
My clients were really surprised at the difference that Hand Painting has made to their kitchen... a thank you gift of wine, biscuits and dog biscuits for Watson (my French Bulldog) was a lovely gesture!
