Lapley, StaffordshireWhat a treat! Not only did we get the opportunity to transform a lovely wooden kitchen. But we also got to work in a Historically interesting (and important Hall) dating back to the days of Charles II, located in the idyllic Staffordshire village of Lapley.
The scale of the room was quite impressive with 12 feet high ceilings and wonderfully thick walls housing impressive Mullion windows… The kitchen units were also of good proportion – over the years they had become a little worn and in need of TLC, but the potential was evident.
Our clients had an idea of which colours – that they would like to use and had tested a few to see which would suit the project and which would work well together… as with many of our clients, we were happy to offer advice and pointed them to various colour pairings. Our clients were “colour brave”, so they we were more than happy to listen to some of our suggestions.
As with all of our projects, we are evangelical about preparation… all doors and drawers to be painted were removed from carcasses, degreased, sanded, sanded and re-sanded – we love a drop of sanding you know! (Using our 99.9% dust-free sanding system – meaning that you won’t find any dust throughout your home when we work for you…)
After four coats of our Specialist, Furniture Specific paint and new handles, the kitchen is almost unrecognisable from its original guise. No more old, wooden finishes, ageing wax or mismatching handles, this kitchen is Showroom ready – what a beauty.
Our clients were amazed and loved their new kitchen… finished in time for use in an open house event for a local charity.
We’re looking forward to returning next year as we’ve been asked to transform further items housed at the property; can’t wait!!!
