Hand Painted Kitchen Harborne, Birmingham

It’s always nice to finish the year on a high note and 2024 has not disappointed – this hand painted kitchen project in Harborne, Birmingham was a real joy to work upon, and is the last project of the year for me.

My client’s had this Harvey Jones kitchen installed by the manufacturer and then invited me, as an independent, Master Kitchen Painter to hand paint it. They had a vision that they wanted to achieve, with my assistance they fine-tuned their colour palette and selected my “Opulence” Paint finish package.

“Opulence”, is my go-to for projects that require a modern, matt, finish – particularly with darker colour tones. In my experience dark matt colours are not always the most wipeable in a kitchen, so to negate this, I have developed “Opulence”, a paint package that includes durable primers, topcoats and lacquers, making my sublime paint finishes, even more hard-wearing and wipeable.

Right from our initial contact, I knew that I was going to enjoy working for my clients. We were in continuous contact, I had manufacturer’s plan sent through, updates on how the installation was going and an accurate timeline for the whole project… I fitted in, seamlessly, once installation was complete. Just to add a little more “interest” to the project, I was told that there was to be the patter of tiny feet due during the first few months of 2025! No pressure to make this project the best that I possibly could!

I needn’t have concerned myself, the project flowed beautify – my clients were, indeed, a joy to work for and the installer that they were assigned by Harvey Jones was top-notch. Which meant that I could concentrate on my role, rather than correcting other trades work before starting my own (which can often be the case with new installations).

You will see for the before and after photographs below that my clients had the carcasses and doors factory sprayed in a grey primer, by the manufacturer, prior to installation, which was a helpful touch with such a dark topcoat colour.
