Hand Painted Kitchen Bournheath - Worcestershire
Those in the “kitchen know”, know that Miele is one of the Prestige Brands of choice; expensive but built to last. This Hand Painted Kitchen project, housed inside a substantial barn conversion in Bournheath, Worcestershire, was heaving with Miele products and even included a whole wall of fridges, freezers, wine chillers and coffee machines, all shrouded in black quartz. Conservatively, the whole kitchen housed at least 15 products! It’s clear; our clients understand their “white goods”.We were invited to produce a quotation to Hand Paint this kitchen, probably two years before starting this project – we understand that at times Hand Painting your kitchen isn’t always a priority and sometimes other projects have to take more precedence, as was the case here.
When we were finally able to commence this project, we fully protected worktops and flooring with our premium grade lining paper, all taped down with 14 days masking tape (no gum residue is left if removed within 14 days), following this we remove all doors, drawers and shelves etc and place upon our modular racking system. All surfaces were thoroughly degreased and abraded with our dust-free sanding system (99.9% dust-free).
Next, we turn our attention to priming. As this is a previously painted (sprayed) kitchen, we applied two coats of an oil-based specialist primer, tinted to the same colour as the top coats to start building the depth of colour right from the first coat. All surfaces are lightly sanded between coats, and two further coats of a water-based top coat were applied – a beautiful low lustre finish.
The kitchen components were reassembled, handles and cabinet furniture screwed back into place, all protection removed aaaaannnnnnnndddddd relax… what a beautiful kitchen – Hand Painted to perfection; a job truly well done!
