Hand Painted Kitchen Belbroughton, Worcestershire
The beautiful village of Belbroughton, Worcestershire is home to our latest Traditional Painter, Hand Painted Kitchen project – our clients recently moved into their quite substantial historic property; inheriting a kitchen for the previous owners… quickly realising that it was a well made, solid wood, kitchen that would cost tens of thousands of pounds to replace, like-for-like, they spoke with us about the possibility of Hand Painting it to give it a new look, (at a fraction of the cost!).As part of the renovation project, new extra cabinets were commissioned from a local carpenter, a new Corian worktop was installed and a fabulous Karndean International herring-bone floor was laid – along with new sink and cabinet furniture.
Our part pulled all of these components together, creating a cohesive look and feel to the project.
As is always the case, we took a good deal of time and effort in protecting the new worktops and flooring, only then did we start by degreasing the whole of the kitchen followed by a thorough sanding using our Dust-Free Sanding System (99.9% Dust Free).
Once we were happy that all substrates to be painted had received enough preparation, we then primed using our preferred shellac based high adhesion sealer primer (tinted to the same colour as the top coat).
The top coat colours were mixed and applied to give a flawless finish in a 30% sheen level – our go-to for kitchens.
The new furniture was fitted and the kitchen reassembled. The result is quite breath taking, we love this project!… what was once an “ugly duckling” is now a “beautiful swan”.
