Hand Painted Kitchen Armitage, Staffordshire
A really lovely Hand Painted Kitchen project in Armitage, Staffordshire… this “Moben” kitchen is around 15 years old and much loved by our clients.Although quite a small project, we still approached it in our usual, systematic and methodical manner; all doors were removed from the carcases and stored on our modular racking system – in this case, housed in our client’s conservatory (we only need around 4ft square to store all of the doors of an “average sized” kitchen).
All flooring and worktops were protected with high quality lining paper and all surfaces to be painted were thoroughly degreased with our specialist cleaning products.
Once the degreasers had performed their magic, we used our dust-free sanding system (99.9% dust free) to prepare the substrate and followed with two coats of our shellac based high adhesion sealer/primer. Once dry we then flattened back to a glassy finish with 320 grade Abranet “sand paper”.
Our client’s chosen colour was mixed into our preferred paint base, manufactured in Finland by a company called Tikkurila – Helmi 30 paint was selected; 30% sheen level.
New handles were fitted and the kitchen was rebuilt… what a difference Hand Painting has made to this little kitchen… it looks so much lighter now and much more modern. Our clients were delighted with their new kitchen!
