Hand Painted Kitchen Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire
Our clients own an incredible farmhouse in the very desirable location of Abbots Bromley in Staffordshire – they have recently moved into the property… in fact, we actually quoted for the project from the Estate Agent’s sales particulars!The kitchen itself is a very good proportion and scale, our clients were extremely happy with the way that it worked and didn’t want (or need) to go to the expense and inconvenience of replacing it with new.
A local carpenter was employed to make a few alterations prior to our arrival; a section of worktop and a few doors, etc. – once complete, we set up a start date and commenced.
The doors and drawer fronts were all removed, degreased and sanded ready for the chosen paint finish and colour scheme… we take care to protect surfaces prior to these stages; it is vitally important to us that we take the utmost care whilst working upon your project.
Our selected high adhesion, primer was applied once the preparation was complete; 2 solid coats of colour – the primer; Pegaprim Isofix seals in all tannins and resins that may leech from the exposed wood that could potentially spoil the topcoat appearance.
We sand back to a glass-like finish in between coats to give the best possible finish… after the primer comes the topcoat; Tikkurila Helmi 30, tinted to our client’s selected colour (we can have “any” colour accurately mixed into our preferred bases).
We apply two to three topcoats of Helmi to a flawless finish. Helmi is the most abrasive and chip resistant paint finish that we have encountered… used by many top brand kitchen manufacturers.
Our clients were ecstatic with their new kitchen and in fact have been handing out our business cards to their friends and family!
It was a joy to work for such lovely clients in a truly wonderful house and location.
